About the book:

Pull Up a Rocking Chair and Reclaim Life’s Simple Blessings

Musings From the Front Porch invites readers to pull up a rocking chair and join Lex Reynolds for candid reflections on life, faith, and culture. Written from the comfort of beloved porches, the author shares his thoughts, pondering, and pontificating about life and other things.

Drawing on deep southern traditions and a conservative perspective, Reynolds tackles complex modern dilemmas and everyday observations. His musings cover a sweeping range of topics, including the influx of newcomers to the South, the lack of truth and honesty in society, the national obesity crisis, and the maddening reality of cell phone addiction. He offers unvarnished opinions on everything from men walking “tea cup” dogs and the rise of tattoos to the decline of handwritten notes and the growing threat of socialism.

Woven throughout these observations is a poignant reflection on aging and the swift passage of time. Reynolds emphasizes that life is short and every day is a gift, urging readers to seek God, get their priorities in order, and find the peace that passes all understanding.

Step onto the porch and enjoy the musings of a man who strives to be watchful and strong, offering gratitude for all circumstances, good and bad.

About the author

In Musings from the Front Porch, Lex Reynolds shares a number of stories from his growing up in Greenville, SC, interwoven with a conservative Southern, Christian perspective on many of the challenges facing American society today. Though most of the topics covered are serious in nature, Reynolds does attempt to weave some humor into the book, in an effort to bring levity to the discussion. According to Reynolds, America is at a crossroads. Will we fall victim to socialism, nihilism, and the pitfalls of social media, or will we turn our hearts back to God? History will tell us. Lex Reynolds was born and raised in Greenville, SC. He spent forty-two years in the chemical industry and retired in 2021. He still resides in Greenville with his wife, Lib, and two of his four children.
