We sincerely hope that through our presentation of this study, we convince those who believe that the Old Testament is mostly irrelevant to the Body of Christ that exactly the reverse is so! All that we can know and understand about God, as well as all of His desires concerning mankind, are found in both the Old and New Testaments. We cannot understand the deep truths of the New Testament without having a solid grasp on those in the Old Testament. We cannot understand the New Testament unless we understand the shadows that are embedded in the Old Testament, which have been, or will be, brought to fruition, or fulfillment, under the New. The Old Testament contains God’s seven-fold prophetic plan of redemption for man in a concealed manner (symbols, types, and shadows) while the New Testament reveals the fulfillment of the first phase of that seven-fold plan fulfilled at Christ’s first coming (the Spring Feasts), as well as the revelation of the upcoming fulfillment of the Fall Feasts, at Christ’s second coming, at the end of the age. God has painstakingly given inspiration to His Word and has caused it to be written down precisely as He desired, so His people would have a “roadmap” to follow and to live their lives by, so we would not be taken by surprise when the “birth pangs” that Christ predicted would take place just before His second coming intensify (see Matthew 24:4–35).
And yet, most of the Body of Christ rarely spend time in the New Testament, never mind the Old. And that is very much to their own loss and detriment.
God has promised that if we would dig into His Word as if we were digging for silver and gold, we would find true treasures—heavenly treasures (see Matthew 13:45–46). By doing so, God promises that we would “find the knowledge of God” (Proverbs 2:1–6). We have, by digging into God’s Word, indeed, found a huge treasure buried in the Word of God, just waiting for those who would be diligent enough to “look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure” (Proverbs 2:4, see also Mark 4:24). We have truly found heavenly gold! We have dug for and uncovered the Seven Feasts of the Lord: God’s Seven-Fold Plan of Redemption for mankind! However, we have only scratched the surface! God’s treasures are so vast that no one person can fully fathom or uncover all that God desires to reveal. It is up to each individual to take God’s Word and continue to search for more of God’s hidden treasures. We encourage God’s people to continue to dig, dig, and dig some more into the Word of God!
May all who read through and take this study to heart be as blessed as we have been in researching and then putting it down on paper.
